Sugar as a vehicle for caffeine...Sometimes on a hot day when I'm sitting still listening to good things everything is just right, so much so that I relax and nod off. And there's no one to bring me a cup of coffee,
and going to get my own is out of the question. That's why coffee nips were invented. I tried buying coffee candy here, and did find some one year in a pharmacy!
The last few years I've been curious about making it myself. I found a recipe
here, which makes a "coffee-ish" candy, I wanted more than that, so I added 4 times as much coffee as the recipe calls for, leaving the other ingredients the same.
It took quite a while for it to boil up to the right temperature, the stringy stage when you put a drop of candy into the water.
Tammy helped me with this project, she also took the pictures.
I almost forgot to mention that we got nearly 800 gm, I think that's nearly a pound!

Hi Neil! It kept me awake the first night after I made it, but the real test will be in a couple of weeks!
