I goofed up today and ended up not being able to boot up my laptop. And I'd like to write down what I did here for future reference:
1 Insert xp installation disk
2 Three options are available:
a/Install windows
b/Repair windows
c/Exit
3 choose option 2
4 enter administrator password
5 choose which OS to repair; hit enter
6 type HELP
7 or type fixboot
8 then type fixmbr
It worked!!!

I can't help but not post a comment to this section of lurkingplaces. I could easily think of something to say here about your computer stuff, but I was given this blog address under the condition that I'd be on my best behavior so all I have to say today is.
"Hi!", from one of your geek brothers,
don't you like me to be able to fix my own computer? nerds in Norway are expensive, you are too busy, and you know how I feel about the guys at the Kiev computer bazaar!
Ya, my laptop is now ubuntu free, I have a install cd still though...

I'm rofl... for real. You're being a good kid, Duane! You didn't even slip up at the mention of that comp bazaar...
I'm not even sure why I came back to check out these comments but it was definitely worth it... lolololololol
